McGee Creek part II - Black (Northern) Water Snake

I like snakes. I have had several in my care when I was a youth. I took pride in my care when snakes shed their skin. They did not try to bite me. And I trried to learn from them about a different way of locomotion.

This afternoon I  observed this snake for nearly 2 hours sunning itself. Air temp was 16.5C in the shade while the Creek was just a thin hair over 20C. Quite windy but the snake seemed undisturbed even if it looked at me interestingly.

A fat snake with evidence of several large skins being shed over the pastcouple of months. And the colouring is interesting too, maybe a little exagerated here.

More from today on another day - W O B
