A bicycle can't stand alone - for Geg

A bicycle can't stand alone; it's just two tired.

I was out paddling Tea Lake - the West arm (lower left central):

when what to my wondering eyes did appear:

Complete with tires!

Around the corner

After clearing away the cob webs, I noticed that the kayak had drifted toward the Leacock Villages.
I was not alone.

This is rather close and I suspected that the heron might be a juvenile. I do not know of any nearby, say within 10km, heronry. Maybe somebody would comment?

It was not bothered by my presence as I drifted closer. It was busy preening its feathers.

One leg, even - odd!

I talked to it in the hope that maybe in another year I would be permitted to photograph it again.

I think it heard me!

I paddled on to other adventures, leaving the heron watchful.

PS The heron has stayed now for 3 days feeding itself. I have not approached it again.

From the balcony I saw -

It is amazing what one sees here - look at the end of the dock:

Tomorrow I hope to show you what I saw next - photos reduced already! Please write

Come from "here"

Most of you know where I live - wilderness "pur".
And for most of you, right now, it is hot and dry.

So I thought of 3 flash-backs to cool us down.

First: January 2011 - from the balcony:

and cropped:

Next Christmas Day, 2014, an eagle has landed:

And if that is not "cool" enough, then how about this Snowy on Monday April 16th, this year:

So has that cooled anyone?
