Snow Bird over Couchiching

Do you know the feeling? You are alone but you feel that there is somebody looking at you? You look around and there it is - starring at you like you are a TV dinner:

I have been circled by these birds while out "running" and I have begun to question myself - OK, you have been questioning me for a much longer time.

But there I was on Monday watching some jumpers when something caught my eye:

It was getting bigger and closer:

I was going to be swallowed up by snow swallows?

There were several -

Time to return to earth

The end maybe of a flight of fantasy?

The last to leaf

Toward the end of a lovely afternoon I took a 2nd last look back on the scene I had witnessed. And I noticed this red oak leaf suspended above the snow.

It lost its colour 3 months ago but not its hope to sail.

The leaf might represent my wishful thinking - but knowing my luck ---

maybe I'd better stay safely on the ground!

Airs above ground

Yesterday was sunny and breezy. An artifical snow bank was used to help clear the way.

Safe landing, good flight for a real snowbird!

They shoot cormorants, don't they?

Big Game Hunter successfully brings down UFO with a Canon:

Great shot - but where would one mount the trophy? Better catch and release?

Is it fair to camouflage like a channel marker? "Red right running" into or out of Orillia Harbour?
Just a thought, just a simple question. And how long is the hunting season?

L. W. flew a kite!

Some people never learn - and a week later return for more.

Now some people walk their dogs, while others go take a jump:

One for the money, two for the show:

L.W. also takes risks to photograph.

This has left the daft old bird "thinking" (?) - well, relatively, maybe.
