I had just entered a lane when something popped up and as quickly popped down - was it the heat getting to me?
Difficult to see, "eh"!
A moment passed
And then another
Two Otter, maybe 15m away from me, curious, very curious,
I was surprised - didn't know what to say. Why did the otter cross the lane?
I did say it was hot - +29°C - so ...
Wonderful,
WOB
Lucky you.
ReplyDelete"Luck" is a very difficult idea to quantize. I was obviously there with a camera ready to use. And yet it only took the otter a minute moment to cross the lane - and I had to be there then. 2 minutes later there was no trace. And if I had been early they probably would have waited until I was gone. And yet, and yet, --- I have had otter come up to me and chat with me - they appear to be able to "stand" on their tails while swimming around me in a canoe. And the truth is one must be outside - back side off the couch!
ReplyDeleteGreat photography. And yes, one must be outside and focused on the natural surroundings, noticing details. It happens in the city as well -- these days with rabbits, skunks, coyotes. An early morning, dusk or after dark walk (or even sit for awhile on a bench) and one might see such neighbours living their lives!
