I went to the dairy, doing what I otter?

Santa is always on the lookout for new ways to deliver presents to anyone who is good,

He looked like this today setting out on his mission:

Fully masked, red jacket, black pants - the hat was to hide his identity!

I am maybe 30m away:

There is definite interest on both sides.

May I be the first to wish you "season's" greetings for 2022?

Consider it done!

Canny Man or Bennets of Morningside

Bennets appears to have moved from Balcarres and Morningside but it will have to do. In any event at this moment it is closed where ever it was and is!

So what was there there to do? Silly question!

There is more! But it is now closing time for me here in Mariposa.

So, good night, "komm gut nach Haus", be safe,

Friday Night was bath night

We were at Washago a few days ago looking at swans, Goldeneye, and Mallards. Something clicked within me and this is the result:

So what would a cob or drake or gander do next?

A "Snowy" and an "Albino" seen yesterday in Grant's Woods

Yesterday I was called in to see one of my clarinetist acquaintances, Hugh,  I think he may have needed some new reeds! By my reckoning he can now buy more than 100 choice reeds

So thus enlightened by many British "pounds", I set off for a walk in the woods. I may have a somewhat vivid imagination?

That is my one and only "Snowy" so far, this Winter; hope Donald can help.

Then I saw "it". I have recently seen a Red Squirrel in Germany, and many Eastern Gray Squirrels around Leacock and Tudhope - some were black. But I had honestly never seen this one before,

Someday I might present you with The Mount Graham Red Squirrel blog, years in the making.

First Footing fast

I know I ought not to mix languages - but I did - did anyone notice the Wortspiel?

So Jörg would like to try - and "warum nicht"=

So some close-ups of the footwear:

It seems like a platform with loops for the feet, depending on the tact.

These people seem to be on skates , maybe special ones?

I don't think I have seen this design before - so I included a few extra images to help. Again, the loops indicate to me that the feet can be placed in different arrangements depending on tacking

I have some images for traction kites - best look at other blogs in other years, in the months of January and February.

Keep it simple

 Skates and a kite

Kitewing - but look at these "skates"

Not sure what the fellow on the right has:

And then a "real" Kiter appeared -  maybe also on skates:

And note the leaf that has yet to leave.

And then a red sky

So far so good - WOB
