Autumn 1. Dalrymple

Autumn is one of the four best seasons of the year: comfortable temperatures, beautiful colours and few, if any, pesky insects.

Is this what comes to mind? Spacious RGB ... ?

I personally like the touch water in its liquid form brings:

Not what one thinks is alvar - the hand of man is also present.

One thinks of the 2nd season of bird migration:

 A might flood -

There still remain little biological patches of colour to enjoy for a few more days:

I hope you are not colour blind and can enjoy what Nature provides,

Good things grow in Ontario - in "soil", not pavement. Get it?

I returned to the spot where I saw the "Canadian" heron, born of immigrants, to see if it was still there. There was something!

I hope it was the waves rocking the camera and not the camera man:

May have seen the Bittern. Certainly saw both male and female Kingfishers. I won't post those photos unless a reader makes a request.

Terry Fox today - the run in Orillia

It started a long time ago:

I visited Thunder Bay in 1987, near where he finished his Marathon of Hope. I ran my first marathon in 1981 - and so far, my last one in 2009.

In 2024 I visited "Mile 0":

It is a great goal to overcome cancer. We have much to be thankful for. So many people have helped all of us get to where we are today. Let us remember the Indigenous who welcomed us and helped us along a very difficult path - we are on it together and we shall make it together.

Every day is a day to remember and to give thanks.

"Miigwetch" means "thank you" in Anishinaabemowin

Thank you,

Locally grown, genuinely Canadian

I talked this Bittern quite literally out of the tree:

And it continued to walk or wade toward me:

I did not want to "imprint" on such a young and impressionable young

creature-So I suggested it return to the tree and I would bid it adieu.

All the best, bitte ein Bit,
