Lunar Occultation of Jupiter and satellites

 This was the setting

The weather co-operated - clear cold calm.

 

 And no "Moose" -

 



 The "dark" part of the Moon is illuminated by a nearly "full" Earth. The image is over exposed.

I managed to see the temperate belts, North and South, too:




 And then the hour-long wait -


 And the excitement - still clear and calm, and forget the cold in the excitement:


 Steady, boy!




 Theory meets practice - all is well in astronomy.

And peace and good will to the homo sapiens and the homo saps on Mother Earth, aka Turtle Island.
