Me and McGee on Thursday

A week earlier our friend Arni gave a great talk, loaded with insider tips - very generously shared with the audience. He mentioned something which resonated with me this afternoon - and lo and behold, I captured it yesterday by accident. So this blog is dedicated to friends who are as hard as rocks and endurable as diamonds - I hope you recognize yourselves:

It may not be well known that there are diamonds in Canada, let alone, here, in Ontario. But there are. In fact, there is a pipe near by:

Here many kinds of diamonds are to be found floating in the Carden pipe:

Colour appears:

Emeralds and Rubies, too:

Diamonds can be woven, also into floats:

And of course, diamonds may be worn:

All that glitters ...

Re: Movies

Some comments:

"Hi Bill,
Your pictures make even a squirrel look cute."

And how about this observation:

" Touche on the weather prognostication. But a blog to commemorate whether there are clouds on a certain date at a certain time?"

My reply was:
"There are blogs for a solar eclipse that lasted 60 seconds - an event, if there are no clouds, at a certain date and time. What/which makes sense?"
So somebody wanted to see me as a shadow of my former self:
my legs have never been my problem, weight-wise.  Other parts are hard to bear, even harder to bare.
Skin cancer from too much sun. Let us keep to shadows today:

(Looking North at midday but not today.)

Ice crystals have been a theme for me for many decades - actually I had a summer job shaving Alberta hail stones, can you imagine?

I have asked my audience to contribute  diamonds when I am making comets. They are relieved when I tell them that their diamonds are much too big for my comets; I want nano diamonds.

Lets end with a squirrel, snow ploughing through to "Nuts for Nature":

Powdered conditions.

Monday: sunny and cold

The sparkling crystals of snow and ice have attracted my attention over the years. And today I heard that Art Garfunkel is giving a couple of concerts and I though of his partner's song about diamonds on the soles of her shoes. So here are 2 images from yesterday with a different furry feel. The sun is low and shining from left to right in each:
