What happened next - seeing stars at the ol' drinking hole

So, dear Kim, I saw so much, too much for a single blog, and so much variety for even a single theme, like a bird bath. It would be easy to pass and pause on it. However, I am sitting just 4-5m away, a ring-side seat as it were, and the photos are mostly in focus although I am excited.

Let us start by seeing the  "stars".

Round 2

Some ruffled feathers

And then the others wanted to get into the action,

A Dove -

A pair of Cowbirds -

An American Robin -

It survived!

And then a special fly-over -

So, Kim and Jens, that is a part of all that I saw. I won't show the Osprey, the Heron, or the Turkey Vulture, or the other birds I could not identify. Leave something for you when you can visit us. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

The Search for Easter Eggs

I do not know why one would nominate a rabbit to be custodian of eggs. As an impractical scientist, I went looking for eggs the other day and did not find any.

No grass, no nest, but the wing is on the bird.

Colourful but no wing nor nest:

Getting closer to home:

but still not a great choice for laying an egg.

At least there appear to be possibilities?

But then what would I know -   W O B

Sommer time and the livin' is ...

Since Sunday at 2a.m. we have "sprung forward" into summer time

It has snowed several times each day since - so it must be true. And without the six weeks of Winter that that Ground Hog predicted.

For me there are a couple of birds I associate with Spring into Summer. Here is one.

I think there were two different birds among the shumac.

I hope it is not turning its back on either me or Summer.

295 Images later

I have been busy - TO, Taxes, and Tiny - plus also a good Scout.

On Thursday evening walking with Muriel and Donald I was surprised at how little regard was given to seeing a robin. I like robins, especially European ones, but North American ones are also very colourful.

That was Thursday evening, between rain showers. (Along the rail trail, north of Division Road East.)
The bird was cold.
Today was another story, written in Scout Valley, at 16C and sunny:

I think quite attractive.

Yesterday at Tiny Marsh, it was a red squirrel that made it to this page:

The end of this tail.

Have a great week - W O B
