They call the wind Maria

Away out here they got a name
For rain and wind and fire
The rain is Tess, the fire's Joe
And they call the wind Maria

-from Paint your Wagon

sung by Harve Presnell

as
[ROTTEN LUCK WILLIE]

Looking East along Atherley toward Tudhope Park

I have been trying to capture the wind for several decades.

And at minus 12 degrees Centigrade I am also trying to capture "wind chill".

And what feels like to be  "liked" in Canada -

They call the wind Maria

  1. Who has seen the wind?
    Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads,
    The wind is passing by.

From the poem Who Has Seen the Wind (2nd verse) by Christina Rossetti

    1. Thank you, I watched the fields of Barley sway like "car's paws" on a lake. The field was across the street in Kuchenheim. It has since been occupied by new houses.
