Carthew Bay Nature Reserve

Went for a walk on a snowy morning.




For those of you who have never gone there before, follow the ribbons:





The snow was deep, not crisp -

not even!

However, beautiful:




One is neither alone nor lonely when one is with Mother Nature.

    Yes, Mother Nature is good company, beautiful and inspiring if not too spoiled by humans. Is that a woodpecker I see -- pileated? These pictures provide a stark contrast with New Delhi, India where I am today. Anne

    I believe it is a Pileated. I went through very deep snow to get close, 15m. It appeared to be making a hole rather than feeding - very diligent. I took other photos but this may be the best one.
