Uhthoff Trail - The quarry south toward Orillia

I have been busy. When I am busy I usually do not make entries. However, I am months behind and nobody wants to see snow just yet, not even Kim. So I am putting out some from today. The canoe trip and the Pierre Berton joke will have to wait as well as a beautiful dragonfly - well no here it is:

We were alone except for 2 bicyclists and 1 motor bike for maybe 2 hours.

Red buildings in snow

I went for a walk on Saturday, in the snow, toward Orillia from Burnside Line. It was a gray day with a wind swirling snow in my face and camera.

Not always easy to "see" colour on such a day - in fact I often incrfease the contrast a little and print to gray scale. The following is about as naturally reproduced as I could manage:

Uhthoff Trail snowy quarry

DE-land has been experiencing some wintery conditions; so I thought I would walk for an hour out and back from the quarry on the Uhthoff Trail. The elevation is approx 201m - Lake Couchiching is at 218m, and in 30km one would reach Georgian Bay at 176m.
