Mothers' Day - Mothering Sunday

It is an emotional time for me, for us: we all have mothers. For many of us, our mothers are separated from us in time and space but not from our hearts and our souls. Some time ago, but with this in mind, I gathered my thoughts around Spring, my origin, My sequence starts on the Black River, maybe on, certainly near, indigenous land. The river is black but flows from white snow melt - something we should not forget when we look around at others - who also have mothers.

The red colour grows on the Dogwood

Vicki and I spent several visits here, so beautiful.

Now I am moving over to the north end of Lake Couchiching and into the woods for a moment.

There is a connection here:

Do you see it?

The Spring flowers are growing among the Autumn leaves - you cannot have one without the connection to the other. Is that observation worth a PhD? It is certainly worth life and might just sustain humans if we should ever learn about "sapiens" before we are Dodos.

In an English Country Garden

In Canada - and it is 1st generation. However, it is "Old World" respect and dignity - and not from the United Kingdom as might have been expected.

It starts with this.

And that got me thinking - always dangerous. Can you recall a song by the name, "Green Door" ?
I recall it around 1956, 1957 - and several articles list 1956. Kind of interesting, kind of sad. "When will we ever learn ... long time passing.

I think of a little girl who lost a friend here.

I can tell that she was born Hungarian! Not only Hungarian, but of royal blood, she is a princess!"

Ah, the Green Door!

cabañas culture

Travel broadens the mind - maybe the reason for the beeg brains in humans?
Travel does other things "below the belt" as it were. Nevertheless, nothing ventured, nothing learned. So, while this was where we spent the night on our way to the "Biosfera Calakmul", I found it of interest to see how one can "live"/build without disturbing nature - walking does not disturb as much as vehicles do. Photos from Thur Dec 7.

Note the Christmas lights, on all night for tourists, sadly.

At the end of this day we slept in another cabaña - but that will be another entry, possibly, Ron.

Uhthoff Trail - The quarry south toward Orillia

I have been busy. When I am busy I usually do not make entries. However, I am months behind and nobody wants to see snow just yet, not even Kim. So I am putting out some from today. The canoe trip and the Pierre Berton joke will have to wait as well as a beautiful dragonfly - well no here it is:
That was from Monday.

Today. Sunny breezy, 27C, No BUGS, Volker! (Vicki wore her bug jacket - just in case!
The setting: the trail:
We were alone except for 2 bicyclists and 1 motor bike for maybe 2 hours.
There be dragons:

And damsels.
Its Springtime:

Santa

More damsels and bees:

Beautiful walk with Vicki - W O B
