At 5Am on Monday morning there was again a "Light Show" over Rama, again without thunder.
First I shall use the lightning to "paint" the sky - 3 or so images and then I will discuss some comments on "and then it struck me"
I am under the influence of Pierre Sabourin
All photos were taken from the balcony looking at Rama. The first images shows the green leaves on the double tree and the oak - there is light pollution present and I can choose to show it as green or I
can cool the temperature/change the "white balance" as I wish, to blue for instance as in the image above.
For Sat Sept 1 I altered the white balance a lot:
The lower image has extreme sharpening as well to emphasize the lightning strikes. Cropping is also used for emphasis:
And while colour can be dramatic, so can greyscale:
All were taken "hand-held", both storms, so painting is an option. Colour, contrast, too.
Exposure time: 20 and 30 seconds, ISO often low at 400. The flash is the actual exposure to light, and that occurred as one can see, several times while the shutter was open. It would not usually matter very much if the camera was moving during the shutter opening if there were no identifiable objects in the field of view. And on one occasion that was what was wished, and on another, not.

Some usual unusual perspectives at the Royal Ontario Museum
After visiting the Royal Ontario Museum's Viking Exhibition, I looked around me and "saw" the usual objects from a new perspective - like these chairs outside the cafeteria:
The chairs are "reflective" and their unusual forms make it challenging to sort out purpose from the lines, surfaces, and colour. And then there is this corner of a wall:
So far just horizonal. However, while drinking a coffee I looked at the pipes in the ceiling. The photos are from just one exposure but with different contrast:
So a museum of modern art, if one chooses to look for it.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
After 12+ hours of rain there came some rays of sunshine to McGee Creek:
The lighting was wonderful:
The guard at the edge of the bridge seemed to fit into the end-of-summer colours.

English - Deutsch - the reagen does not stay in Spain
What a day
Where have all the flowers gone? Wohin mit den Blumen - nicht nach Vereinigten
So Volker:
Mehr = More
Reagen = Trump
It is foggy here - alles klar wie diche Tinte besser: clear as mud

Bala Cranberry Festival
We began with a walk around the old marsh -
There are cranberries in the foreground:
If you go to the link at the top you may learn how irrigation is used.
After some cranberry drink and sausage we explored the south marsh which was being harvested:
Lots of colour - humans trying to copy nature -
Hard to compete with cranberries:

A different kind of reflection
Between the posting of the last 2 blogs I went for a walk in Scout Valley to the west of Orillia. And I was thankful for 2 reasons -
1) I had seen the beauty of Algonquin Park a week earlier but was aware that a similar beauty was available to me, here, if I chose to go outside and look.
and
2) I as a male am not colour blind as some of my friends are. I am especially thinking about my friend Barry who is thankful to have survived a triple by-pass. He is one of the fastest pickers of ripe strawberries that I know.
This entry is for him and for Linda. And yet I am not sure how to interprete "muddy colours" for our "red". I have tried by going grey scale. And by the way I am deliberately using Canadian-English spelling for "colour" and "grey" because Barry has adopted Canada by choice - so not an accidental Canadian. I think that is wonderful, too.
To those of us who can see there is much to be thankful.
